The first one is GIMP. GIMP is basically Photoshop for free. The last alternative is for anyone who doesn’t want to download anything or you feel like doing it through an internet browser. The alternative that I am talking about is called Photopea. This I essentially photoshop, but compelety online. Thats all the alternatives I have had experence using. Hope this helped and enjoy!!!

DIY Light Box

How to make a DIY Light Boc: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJlPZkkOFCk

This was a DIY light box that I made today. This is amazing for product shots or making something look professionally shot. The box was relatively cheap to make ($8.00 to be more precise). The video that I followed to make this light box is right up above check it our if you are interested.

Fast Shutter Speed

Shutter speed? Shutter speed is essentially how long or short your camera shutter is opens. For this post I am going to look at a fast shutter speed (1/4000). First make sure your camera is set to shutter priority mode (TV) and then use control dial to change the shutter speed to a low number. Once you have gotten to this point find an interesting subject (like a pet, car, a friend, etc.). When you shoot you will start to notice the longer your hold shutter button the more pictures the camera shoots. This rapid picture capture will help you freeze the moving subject. The key to achieving an amazing fast shutter picture is patience and some interesting action on screen. Here are some of the shots that I captured.

I have Good News!!!

You may be wondering what is the good news? If you remember from my last blog post I said that I was looking for a new camera. Well, yesterday I set an order for one. Which camera you may be wondering? Well I managed to get my hands on a Canon SL2 directly from Canon for $388. Thi was due to the fact that this camera was a Canon certified refurbished. Canon was having a refurbished camera sale appareantly and this is how I manage to get a Canon SL2 for that low price. I can’t wait until it comes in and start making more blog post. See you soon and make sue you stay notified.

So Where Now………

So, you may have notice that my blog posts have been very few and far in between lately. This is primarily because I had to return my Rebel t5i. The shutter on the camera started making wierd rattling noises. Do not fear my friends for I am still looking for a camera online. The posts should go back to their regular pattern once I get a new camera. Thank you and I hope to see you all again soon.

Low Depth of Field

So, for my first post I decided to begin with the basics. I was going to give Depth of Field a try. If you have a DSLR, it is relatively simple. First, switch your DSLR into Aperture Priority mode on your camera. Then, from there for the best results lower your F number (the lower that F Number is set to, the better that Bokeh). Many people reccomend using a telephoto lenses to get the best bokeh possible as well! I decided for these shots to have my Christmas tree behind me to get an interesting blurred background. You can use pretty much any background, just as long as it looks interesting. Tell me how these shots turned out and stay tuned!
